Maurten Drink Mix 160 is a liquid carbohydrate fuel built on Hydrogel Technology. Mixed with 500ml of water, one sachet gives you 40g of carbohydrate in a drink that turns to a gel in the acidity of the stomach, carrying the carbs through to be absorbed. It's the gentler, lower-concentration option in the Maurten drink range.

What's in it

• 40g carbohydrate per sachet when mixed with 500ml of water
• Hydrogel Technology that encapsulates the carbohydrate to help reduce stomach sloshing and discomfort

When to use it

• Longer, lower-intensity training and racing: long runs, easy ultra stages, steady rides
• Hot or humid conditions where you want fuel and fluid in the same bottle
• As a carbohydrate preload before exercise, or for quick refuelling afterwards
• Beginners to hydrogel fuel, or anyone building tolerance before moving up to Drink Mix 320

How to mix

1. Fill a 500ml bottle to the neck with clean water (up to 80mg calcium per litre)
2. Pour the sachet in on top of the water
3. Shake hard until fully dissolved, with no lumps left at the bottom

Pair with Maurten gels when you need more than 40g of carbohydrate per hour.
